Some people are lucky enough to find love on the Internet. Sadly, others think they have found love only be become victimized by an Internet dating scam. This can lead to a ruined life, an empty bank account and a broken spirit. The only way to avoid an Internet dating scam is to become familiar with their occurrences and know how to spot them before they begin.
The first thing you need to do is pay close attention to the person you’re beginning to have conversation with. Are they answering all of the questions that you’re asking, or do they avoid them and only get to parts of the conversation they care about or reply with a generic message? Profile scammer will often use the same messages for everyone, so watch and see if they’re scripted type responses. If they don’t come off as legitimate then you should stand back, this is an Internet Dating Scam.
The second thing you need to take notice of is their online profile picture. If the picture looks too good to be true and there is only one, then this person is an Internet dating scammer and you need to block and delete their contact. If things are further along you should notify the authorities.
The third thing is extra listening to the types of questions you’re being asked. If this person is asking about your net worth, value of your home, what you salary is, then they’re trying to figure out if you’re a good candidate to take advantage of. Don’t get caught up in the casual conversation, before you really get to know someone, hang off of every word and detail of the conversation. The last thing you need to someone emptying your bank accounts and leaving you penniless.
The fourth thing and the most important is to plan a meet up. No matter how much you think your have in common or what kind of chemistry you think you share, you must plan a face to face meeting. Make the meeting in a pubic place to protect yourself. If you this person declines to meet you or keep coming up with excuses avoiding meeting you, then is clear they’re only trying to scam you. You can then cut off all contact with this person and actually find love with someone who is a legitimate online dater.
If you follow these rules for how to avoid Internet dating scams, you’re going to protect your heart and your money. Don’t fall into the trap of falling for the person who says all the right things online. If you don’t take care of yourself first, no one else will.
